South Plains College Foundation announces new scholarship
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Foundation is honored to announce the establishment of the Woodmen Life Chapter 875 Scholarship Endowment to assist South Plains College students.
Woodmen Life offers a range of products for a variety of individuals through arrangements with other nationally recognized insurance companies. Woodmen Life chapters find the needs in their own communities and find ways to meet them.
“Our organization is committed to helping students of members realize their educational dreams,” said Lynn Elms, President of Woodmen Life Chapter 875. “We chose to endow a scholarship at South Plains College because it serves the (people) in our area.”
“One of our members said she attended South Plains College where she studied cosmetology,” Elms said. “We are excited to be able to help some deserving students pursue their career goals.”
For the SPC scholarship, first consideration for applicants will be given to a minimum one-year policy holder of a Woodmen Life policy. The recipient may be classified as a freshman or sophomore student and may be either a part-time or full-time student studying an academic or technical/certificate program.
If no qualified member applies, then the scholarship is awarded to the next best applicant as ranked by the South Plains College Scholarship Committee.
SPC provides one application for all scholarships. For additional information on the criteria for this scholarship, please contact the South Plains College Scholarship Office at 716-2219.
