SPC to host annual Christmas Tree Lighting event on Dec. 5
LEVELLAND – To mark the beginning of Levelland’s Festival of Lights and Christmas on the Square, South Plains College will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 5 at the entrance to its Levelland campus.
Gary Hudson, SPC professor of music, will direct the musical entertainment beginning at 5:30 p.m., and Santa Claus will make a special appearance before heading to the Gazebo on the Hockley County Courthouse Square. The countdown for the tree lighting will start at 6 p.m. as SPC President Robin Satterwhite and 2024 Miss Caprock Blanca Espinoza of Seminole screw the missing lightbulb into a string of lights.
The SPC Office of Student Life will host an event featuring holiday-themed activities and giveaways ahead of the tree lighting and provide hot chocolate, hot apple cider and a holiday cookie-decorating station during the event.
