South Plains College Theatre to present ‘The Happening’ March 1-3
LEVELLAND – South Plains College Theatre will present its spring 2018 show, “The Happening” with performance dates set for March 1-3 in the Fine Arts Department. Show times and dates are 7:30 p.m.. on March 1 (Thursday) and March 2 (Friday). On March 3 (Saturday), the doors to the studios open at 4 p.m.., and live music will be performed. The theatrical performance will begin at 7 p.m..
There is no admission charge; however, donations will be accepted. This one-time only experience of art and performance provided by the SPC faculty and students in the Fine Arts Department and the SPC Ball Room Dance Team.
A happening is a performance, event or situation meant to be considered art – usually as performance art. Happenings can be staged anywhere… galleries, theater settings or on the street. The term was first used by Allan Kaprow during the 1950s to describe a range of art-related event or multiple events.
