SPC Lubbock Center will host Skills Development Fund Grant event Friday
LUBBOCK – South Plains College Lubbock Center will host the Skills Development Fund Grant Award check presentation during a press conference at 10 a.m. on Friday (Jan. 17.)
Texas Workforce Commissioner Bryan Daniel will present the $506,719 Skills Development Fund Grant (SDF) award to South Plains College President Dr. Robin Satterwhite. The SDF grant is a manufacturing consortium with four participating manufacturers, Azteca Milling, J&B Industrial, Red River Commodities and Simflo.
Over the next 18 months, enhanced skilled training from heavy equipment to office workflow will be provided for more than 200 participating employees. South Plains College has worked alongside of Workforce Solutions South Plains, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance and TMAC of West Texas to meet the workforce needs in the service area.
