SPC to host 27th annual Scholarship Gala on Feb. 21

LEVELLAND – South Plains College will present its 27th annual Scholarship Gala at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Mallet Event Center in Levelland. Hosted by City Bank, the Gala is one of two major fundraising events for student scholarships at SPC, and this year’s theme centers around stars and images of the cosmos. Event sponsorships and seating are still available.

“We are shaking things up for this year’s Gala,” Samantha Goldie, director of SPC Development and Alumni Relations, said. “We’ve added an emcee and will feature student performers throughout the night. The Scholarship Gala has been a beloved event for the past 27 years, and we want our community to know that anything is possible that starts at South Plains College.”

Interested patrons can purchase tables and tickets at www.southplainscollege.edu/gala. The sponsorship levels are Underwriting Partner ($7,500), Diamond Sponsorship ($5,000), Ruby Sponsorship ($2,000), Sapphire Sponsorship ($1,000) and Gold Sponsorship ($125). All event proceeds will go toward scholarships for SPC students.

Guests can expect to enjoy a three-course dinner (served at 6:30 p.m.), live and silent auctions, raffles and live musical performances featuring SPC students, faculty and alumni. Kirk Noles, SPC alumnus and CEO of ad agency EMW Digital in Lubbock, will serve as the master of ceremonies.

During the Gala, SPC alumnus Randy S. Wilson will be honored with the 2025 Pacesetter Award. Established in 2003, the Pacesetter Award recognizes select benefactors who have provided exemplary support through their philanthropy, service or leadership that makes a difference in the lives of SPC students. Wilson serves on the Odessa College Board of Trustees and the advisory committee for the Rea Charitable Trust, which provided a grant of $120,000 to SPC for new seating, carpet and paint in the Helen DeVitt Jones Theater on the Levelland campus.
