LEVELLAND – South Plains College and Freedom Shooting Academy will host a Mom and Daughter Pistol Course starting at 9 a.m. on April 29 in Room 115 of the Law Enforcement building. Mothers can bring their daughters to this essential course and learn together.

The cost is $85, and students ages 16 and older are eligible to participate. The class will begin at 9 a.m. and end around 6 p.m.. Students will be given the opportunity to shoot various calibers and actions at the end of class, time permitting, for an additional $10 fee (payable the day of class).

Students will learn how to safely use and carry a pistol. This class covers firearm safety, how ammunition and handguns work, different types of handguns, handgun terminology, cleaning handguns, proper shooting skills, purchasing a new or used handgun, available shooting opportunities and firearm safety.
