Speaker to address two current crises during talk at SPC on Sept. 25
LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s James Kemper will present “Two Crises at Once: How the Pandemic and Oil Glut have affected our Local Economies” at 9 a.m. Sept. 25 (Friday) to members of the SPC faculty and staff in the Helen DeVitt Jones Theatre.
All participants are required to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing.

Kemper is an Assistant Professor of Economics at SPC. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Texas A&M University.
“My presentation aims to give timely analysis on the state of our local economies,” he said. “Using various data, I will provide a timeline of how the Covid-19 pandemic and the oil market collapse have affected our regional markets. I will also give an outlook on what we can expect in the future as we navigate these uncertain times.”
Following his talk, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session.
