SPC to host live, silent auctions at 27th annual Scholarship Gala

LEVELLAND – Guests are invited to participate in four fundraising opportunities at South Plains College’s 27th annual Scholarship Gala on Feb. 21 at Levelland’s Mallet Event Center.

Patrons at the Gala will have exclusive access to live and silent auctions. The two auctions feature unique items donated by Levelland and Lubbock community members, SPC programs, alumni and other generous supporters. While the Gala does not start until 5:30 p.m., guests can view the auction items online a week before the event.

Event sponsorships and tables are still available at www.southplainscollege.edu/gala. Attendees are encouraged to register on the auction website before arriving at the Gala.

This year’s auction items include a .45-caliber pistol with custom Texas Ranger grips, flowers for a year, admission to SPC’s summer basketball camp, a Deion Sanders collectors’ package, a bedroom makeover and much more. The SPC Street Sign Naming, an item donated by the SPC Board of Regents, will return for the live auction. SPC will also host special raffles at the Gala, and this year’s event will feature a new progress raffle featuring an autographed Taylor Swift guitar.

"We’re so fortunate to have a group of volunteers on our Auction Committee who are focused on securing items that people want to bid on," Samantha Goldie, director of SPC Development and Alumni Relations, said. “They want the Scholarship Gala to be fun and exciting, and we are implementing new elements this year everyone will enjoy.”

Volunteers from both SPC and the community make up the Auction Committee. This year’s committee members are Suanne Alexander, Laura Betancourt, Shelby Lewis, Dee Dee Ninemire, Robyn Reaves and Katy Rush. SPC also introduced a new committee this year called the Games Committee, which includes Kati Moody, LeeAnn Paxton and Katy Rush.
