South Plains College announces fall 2020 enrollment numbers
LEVELLAND – South Plains College officials recently announced the fall 2020 enrollment numbers. As of the official 12th day of classes, enrollment across all SPC campuses is 8,877 for fall 2020 – down 3.5 percent or 319 students. The enrollment for fall 2019 was 9,196.
"Enrollment is only minimally down for the fall semester. Considering our current environment, this enrollment position is actually very favorable,” said Dr. Robin Satterwhite, president of South Plains College. “Community colleges across the state are reporting significant declines as high as 25-30 percent due to the pandemic and economic stressors.
“I believe our enrollment status is a result of the commitment from the College to provide as much of a normal educational experience as possible and making ourselves available to our students by opening up as soon as we safely could,” he said. “Our faculty and staff have done a phenomenal job of meeting the needs of our students.”
South Plains College has averaged around 9,500 students annually.
