SPC EMS Student Organization to host BBQ fundraiser Saturday
LUBBOCK – The South Plains College EMS Student Organization will host a BBQ Cook Off Saturday (July 7) from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. at 5305 Ave. Q.
Patrons can enjoy as much barbecue as they want for $10. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to set up a scholarship for the SPC EMS Student Organization.
The event will feature live music by Miles Langehening. He also will DJ for two hours.
Emergency Medical Services professionals possess skills and knowledge in the basic principles and techniques of pre-hospital care, with progressive participation as a team member of the emergency medical team. South Plains College provides an accredited educational program in Emergency Medical Services that offers three competency-based educational options. Students participate in a combination of classroom study and directed clinical experiences that prepare the student for entry-level employment.
Employment opportunities for qualified EMS professionals remain strong in the South Plains region. Graduates of the program find jobs in public and private emergency medical services agencies, municipal fire, police and rescue departments and hospitals.
