SPC Commercial Music faculty to host Seminar Week Oct. 11-14
LEVELLAND – The faculty of South Plains College’s Commercial Music Program will conduct a week of special presentations during Seminar Week Oct. 11-14. The seminars are geared to anyone interested in learning about the music industry.
The event is free, and open to the public.
On Monday (Oct. 11), “MODES: What is a Mode and how to use them” will be offered at 9:30 a.m. in Room 139. At 11 a.m., two seminars are slated. The “Vocal Process” will be presented in Room 139 and “Making the Metronome Your Friend” will be conducted in Room 146.
On Tuesday (Oct. 12), “Loop Stations” will be presented at 9:30 a.m. in Room 139. At 11 a.m., “Booking Gigs – Expanding Your Audience Through Public Performance” will be offered in Room 143. The David Stroud Vocal Clinic will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.. in Room 139.
On Wednesday (Oct. 13), “Simple Ways to Locate and Utilize the Major Pentatonic Scale” will be offered at 9:30 a.m. in Room 143. At 11 a.m., “So, You Want to Record an Album? Helpful Tips for Success” will be presented in Room 139. The Dave Stroud Artistic Development will be provided in Room 139.
On Thursday (Oct. 14), the Emily Wheeler Clinic will be presented at 9:30 a.m. in Room 146. “Zen and the Art of Sound” will be conducted at 11 a.m. in Room 139.
