SPC’s Commercial Music Program announces winners of songwriting contest
LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Commercial Music Department recently hosted a Songwriting Contest for aspiring artists in the West Texas area.
The winners were Noah Garcia of Frenship High School (high school division) and Jojo DiSalvo (adult division). Both winners will perform their songs on May 4 during Fest Week in the Tom T. Hall Studio.
The event was created for the purpose of cultivating original music in the surrounding area and encouraging young songwriters to create, while also aiding in recruitment.
The winners each received a prize package courtesy of the event’s sponsors: Casita Creative (Logo Design), Pale Son Leather (Custom Guitar Strap), Cactus Theater (performance), Johnny Velvet (Merch), Mount Vernon Studios (Recording) and LEPAA (Adult Buddy Holly Songwriter Retreat spot).
