SPC Lubbock Career and Technical Center to open Lubbock Coding Academy in February
LUBBOCK – The South Plains College Lubbock Career and Technical Center will open the Lubbock Coding Academy starting Feb.4, 2019. The cost is $1,490 per class.
An introductory class, Introduction to Web 101 will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m.. on Monday-Wednesday schedule. Additional courses will follow: Introduction to Web Coding C#221; .NET 321 Programming; and Fullstack 421.
The Introduction to Web 101 will focus on the fundamentals of front-end web development and introduces the fundamentals of computer programming via the JavaScript language. The Web 101 is the starting point for Full Stack Developer Program. This class is designed for people who are starting with little or no experience in coding. By the end of the class, students will build functional and professional-quality websites as well as basic JavaScript apps and games. This is an eight-week class.
In the Introduction to Web Coding C#221, students will study C# syntax including data types, control structures, functions and semantics of the language, class, class relationships and exception handling. This is an eight-week class.
In the .NET 321 Programming class, students will cover the fundamentals of web developer utilizing .NET framework and SQL. .NET is a software framework developed by Microsoft that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. It is used to build web applications, mobile applications and desktop applications. This is an eight-week class.
Fullstack 321 brings back-end and front-end together to teach students to deploy full-stack applications using C#, .NET, SQL and the Angular framework. Angular framework is a JavaScript-based open-source front-end web application framework mainly maintained by Google and by a community of individuals and corporations to address many of the challenges encountered in developing sing-page applications. This is a 32-week class.
Students interested in the academy must be accepted and enrolled at South Plains College.
