SPC to host 2024 Scholarship Scramble on June 17
LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s annual Scholarship Scramble—a golf tournament that supports student scholarships at SPC—will take place on June 17 at the Rawls Course at 3720 4th St. in Lubbock.
The tournament is a four-person scramble shotgun start event that welcomes men’s, women’s and mixed teams. All proceeds from the event will support the SPC Founder’s Opportunity Scholarship Endowment, one of the College’s general scholarship funds established in 1998.
“The Scholarship Scramble is not only one of two main fundraising events for the College, but it is the only one hosted in Lubbock,” Samantha Goldie, director of SPC Development and Alumni Relations, said. “It’s so much fun to be in Lubbock where SPC has three centers and have the local community join us for a fun afternoon.”
Hosted by City Bank, the event will begin with a check-in at 11:30 a.m. and start tee time at 1:30 p.m. Participants will enjoy lunch and an award reception featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres.
The top three teams in each of the two flights of the tournament will receive prizes.
There also will be prizes for holes in one on a select par-3 hole, longest drive and closest to the pin.
The registration deadline is June 5, and entry will be limited to the first 32 teams (128 golfers). Standard golf attire—collared shirt, soft spikes only and no denim—is required.
