Get a
Clue Before Getting in Line
Jessica Safavimehr, staff writer
You are waiting in line, a
line that never seems to be moving. You look ahead and listen to the
conversation of those ordering in front of you. You want to reach over and
grab the person in front of you and tell them to move, but you cannot. All
you can do is wait for them to decide what every one of their friends is
going to have, and if they forgot their wallet or not.
Working in a restaurant is one of the hardest jobs there is, because of the
emphasis on people interaction. People have to eat. It’s one of those
burdens on life. Since people have to eat, people go to restaurants to
fulfill this need. For some reason, when people enter a restaurant, their
intelligence drops them down to the IQ of an 8-year-old. I am sure there are
some 8 year olds who are much smarter than the people ordering.
Having
worked in a restaurant since I was in high school, I have become a bitter
cashier. People loose their minds when they go out to eat. For some reason,
people are so messy and so inconsiderate it is ridiculous. People throw
their napkins down on the ground; they make a mess with salad dressing and
drinks. Why is it so hard to be clean at a restaurant? Why must people leave
their manners and IQs at the door? Why is it so hard to pick up your own
dirty napkin?
People
need to learn that no one wants to touch your nasty napkin that you used to
clean your face. People also need to be informed about how to order. Do not
take five hours deciding if you want a salad or soup. Have an idea of what
you want ahead of time; it’s a common courtesy.
I feel
as though some people should just crawl in a hole and stay away from
restaurants. If you cannot order your own food, then you have no business
leaving your house. As for everyone else, please have a little consideration
when eating out. You do not have to be messy, and you can throw your own
trash in the trashcan. It really is not that hard to do.
