Fragile Feelings of a Lucky Heart

Bud Castilleja, staff writer

If you’re lucky, eventually you will find that someone special who will change the whole world around you, and just maybe things won’t turn sour and take a turn for the worst. Ninety percent of the time after a couple splits, things between the two will never seem the same. Relationships are based on a series of emotional roller coasters, good and bad experiences, thousands of compromises, and few moments here everything is just peachy and peaceful. The person you see yourself with will normally have attributes that you will find to your liking. After the first impression is long gone, nine times out of ten you will discover this person you would like to date is very different from what you thought. Opposites attract, and that is no joke.

If you consider you and your lover to be close, you can know for sure if you can name his or her favorite movie, food, color, etc… If you have gone this far with the relationship, calls are now mandatory, other people are off limits, and every single second of your life must be spent thinking of him or her and nothing else. Well that’s what he or she thinks anyway.

If you are a guy, and can honestly tell me you don’t check out other woman, even when you have a girlfriend, I’d consider you a liar. It’s a very good example of the difference between lust and love. You are devoted to your lover, care for them with all your heart, but the girl/guy who just passed by is looking very hot, plus you didn’t touch them. That’s not wrong, it’s human.

The longest relationship I have been involved in lasted for about two years. During this time period, I became so close to this person I could finish her sentences. The first couple of months were the greatest. I learned more about her, had loads of fun, and we became the best of friends. As time passed, things changed, and we became easily frustrated with each other. The dumb fights were the worst, and we both started to see how we were equally unhappy.

In the end, it taught me that love at first sight can never be true. Love does not fall out of the sky and make everything perfect. Love is a monster that can consume your life and fill every moment with sadness, confusion, and jealousy. If you are not careful, you can fall in love with the wrong person, and they will take advantage of you in every way.

I’m not telling everyone to remove love from their hearts. Just know it is a fragile feeling and could become the best or worst thing to ever happen in your life.
